Descanso Gardens, at 1418 Descanso Drive in La Canada Flintridge, presents “Earth Day California Blooms Display” on Tuesday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This event is free with your admission to the Gardens. It will feature a floral display created by Descanso Horticulturist Layla Valenzuela that celebrates the beauty of California native flowers.

Descanso Gardens is a “unique Southern California landscape distinguished by its specialized botanical collections, historical significance, and rare natural beauty,” according to a description on its website.
The Gardens are operated by the Descanso Gardens Guild, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in a public-private partnership with Los Angeles County. It has an annual budget of $15 million funded by memberships, philanthropic gifts, fees, and support from the County.
The Guild’s mission is to practice exemplary stewardship of Descanso Gardens’ distinctive character and assets, offer people an experience close to nature, and cultivate understanding of the natural world and people’s place in it through inspiration, education, and example.
