Come join Sierra Club Pasadena Group on this 10-mile round trip, 2,870' gain hike from La Crescenta. Mount Lukens lies just within the boundaries of Los Angeles, making it the highest point in the city at 5,075'. Named after Theodore P. Lukens, one time Angeles Forest supervisor for his reforestation efforts and then Mayor of Pasadena. Great views of the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles. We will begin our hike from Deukmejian wilderness park, that opened in 1989 and was formerly a vineyard owned by French immigrant, winemaker and world war I veteran George Le Messager. Bring: Bring sturdy footwear, hydration, snacks, lunch, layers, sun protection, and a filled out medical form to show the leader.
