Tucson, AZ based experimental project Ruehlen/Trejo Duo will be on their latest west coast tour in January '25. Interdisciplinary artists Cecyl Ruehlen & Chelsey Lee Trejo perform long form compositions with expanded instruments focused around slowly unfolding harmonic variations, alternative tunings, and textural devotion that veers towards topos, or landscape, rather than song. Ruehlen will be utilizing his latest hand made sound object, a “hexachimeric drone" of resonating, multimodal strings and voicings, while Trejo works with a combination of custom crafted, bowed metal objects, synthesis, and field recordings. Their collaboration grows out of the traditions and present-edge of drone musics that spiral across desert communities throughout the world. Show will also feature LA based electroacoustic imnprovisers and composers MESH as well as Cassia Streb & Tim Feeney.
