Charmian Kittredge London is best known as the wife of author Jack London. She was also a modern woman, who excelled in literary, musical, and other endeavors even as she managed many of Jack’s businesses and kept his literary flame alight. Jack and Charmian were equal partners, calling one another “Mate-Man” and “Mate-Woman” as they adventured around the globe. Sue Hodson, retired curator of literary manuscripts for The Huntington Library, shares stories of this remarkable woman. Reservations are suggested.
