Young & Healthy, a Pasadena nonprofit that serves underserved children who need medical and dental care, is hosting a Mobile Dental Clinic from October 22 to 30, primarily for children ages 5 to 8 who live or go to school in Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena.

There may be services for their parents or guardians as well, but on a limited basis.

Each participant in the clinic will attend multiple appointments over the course of the week. Some appointments will happen during school hours, so children should communicate with their PUSD teachers to make sure they are up to date on work that they may miss.

Young & Healthy said they have taken extensive steps to ensure that the clinic is socially distanced and safe during the pandemic.

Patients will be spaced out within trailers. All patients must be tested for COVID-19 prior to the receiving treatment, with Young & Healthy coordinating that testing for you. All patients will receive health screening prior to entering the clinic each day.

Social distancing will be practiced while waiting for appointments. Face masks will be required.

Since space is limited, parents or guardians are advised to call or email Young & Healthy to begin the registration process. Call (626) 795-5166 or email info@yhpasadena.org.

Young & Healthy began in 1990 as a small group of 19 physicians who agreed to donate their time and services to Pasadena area children who lacked access to medical and dental care.

It is now sustained by a volunteer workforce of more than 350 healthcare professionals, over 460 community volunteers and an extensive network of community partners.
