Old Pasadena has transformed into a Halloween destination as October draws to a close, offering a number of family-friendly events throughout the historic retail and dining District. The month culminates in a fun trick-or-treating event on Halloween night.
Nearly 100 businesses throughout Old Pasadena will welcome costumed children on Thursday, October 31, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Participating stores will display orange Treat Stop signs in their windows, making it easy for families to navigate the festivities along Colorado Boulevard and adjacent streets.
One Colorado, an unforgettable shopping and dining destination in the heart of Old Pasadena at 41 Hugus Alley, is hosting a “Halloween Spooktacular” on Saturday, October 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event begins with a Halloween Hootenanny featuring the Bob Baker Marionettes, followed by a pumpkin-decorating activity. The pumpkin decorating requires pre-registration and costs $10 per person. On Halloween night, One Colorado will feature trick-or-treating at shops and restaurants from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a special screening of “Beetlejuice” at 7:00 p.m. Families can capture memorable photos at the Pumpkin Wall display, though treats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Local businesses are offering special Halloween promotions.
Yvonne’s Vegan Kitchen will provide free mini gluten-free, vegan, nut-free cupcakes to the first 100 kids on Halloween. Sanctuary Fitness is giving out free class vouchers along with Halloween treats. Rebecca Crews is offering 30% off their new fall collection, including suit wear and seasonal accessories. PlayLab Beauty will provide 10% discount coupons for adults. For food enthusiasts, Pez Coastal Kitchen will host a special “Tiki or Treat” Halloween-inspired dinner sponsored by Flor De Cana Rum on Tuesday, October 29.
For those seeking spookier entertainment, the Bunker Experience at 20 N. Raymond Avenue is featuring their newest escape room, “Chapter 4: Infected,” which launches October 6. Visitors can choose from four games: The Bunker, The Hive, The Gatekeeper, and Chapter 4: Infected, available Thursday through Sunday. Located in the basement of one of Pasadena’s oldest buildings, the 130-year-old venue includes historic catacombs from an original Spanish Mission and has been the site of reported haunting events throughout its history.
The Haunted Pasadena Walking Tour offers a historical perspective on the city’s eerie past, running Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m. through October. The two-hour tour covers 1.5 miles, starting at the Performer Statue outside The Stand on El Molino Avenue and ending at Castle Green in Old Pasadena, approximately one mile from the starting point. Participants explore Playhouse Village, the Civic Center, and Old Pasadena, though building interiors are not included. Tours require a minimum of two participants and will be canceled and refunded if minimum participation isn’t met by 8:00 p.m. the night before. Tickets are $28 for adults and $18 for children aged 5-12, with parental guidance advised due to the nature of the stories told during the tour.
Rivian’s Pasadena location at 169 W. Colorado Boulevard is joining the festivities on Halloween afternoon, hosting crafting activities and offering treats from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at their Colorado Boulevard space.
