What would it take to survive on Mars? Families will explore that question through hands-on construction when the Hill Avenue Branch Library hosts “Build a Space Colony” this Saturday.

The free workshop runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on September 13 at 55 S. Hill Ave. in Pasadena. The program connects to the NASA Solar System Ambassadors Program, a 25-year initiative that has reached more than 11 million audience members nationwide through more than 1,100 volunteers.

The event takes place at the Hill Avenue Branch, a 4,752-square-foot facility with 11 parking spaces available.

Organizers request advance notice for accessibility accommodations.

The NASA Solar System Ambassadors Program brings space science education directly to communities nationwide, from small-town libraries to military bases, connecting local audiences with current space exploration missions.
