In celebration of Lunar New Year, the Altadena Library District presents “Firecracker Dragon with Barbara Wong,” where you’ll hear magical stories about dragons, an enchanted pot and a Monkey King, on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Take-home craft kits will be available while supplies last.
Barbara Wong is a former Artist-in-the-Schools for the Hawaii State Dept. of Education. She now shares her multicultural tales and love of stories with audiences of all ages throughout southern California – and thanks to Zoom, throughout the United States.
She is a regular teller with the USC Pacific Asia Museum’s Lunar New Year and Silk Road Gallery celebrations, and with Riverside Museum’s Annual Moon Festival at Heritage House. Wong has been a guest storyteller at the Walt Disney Imagineering ID8 Summit, their annual creative symposium. Her timeless tales, filled with wonder, humor and wisdom, speak to the hearts of young and old alike.
There is no cost for attending the event. The event will be at the Bob Lucas Branch Library at 2659 Lincoln Ave. in Altadena.
