Pasadena Walking Tours announced it is set to offer a rare glimpse into the storied past of Bullock’s Pasadena, now a Macy’s, on Sunday, Aug. 25. The two-hour tour, starting at 10:00 a.m., will provide an exclusive opportunity to explore the 1947 late moderne architectural marvel.
Participants will have the chance to photograph the luxurious interior and visit the former Tea Room balcony, typically off-limits to the public. The tour begins an hour before the store opens to the public, allowing for an uninterrupted view of the building’s elegant design.
The tour will delve into the rich history of iconic Bullock’s Pasadena, originally home to the department store, marveling at its timeless fashions, chic interior design, and stunning architecture. This in-depth exploration promises to uncover stories and secrets of the former Bullock’s store, a hallmark of design on Lake Avenue.
Visitors can escape the summer heat while exploring the mural-rich interior, where various themes intertwine with the structure’s elegance. Attendees will also have the opportunity to admire the charming showcase windows framed by jasmine-lined steps outside the building.
Tickets for the “From Bullock’s to Macy’s” store tour are currently available, with organizers expecting a sellout.
Adult tickets are priced at $30, children aged 5-12 can attend for $18, and children under 5 are free.
