The Towne Singers Community Choir, a 75-voice choir, will usher in the 2024 holiday season with a blend of sacred and secular favorites, featuring everything from the “Hallelujah Chorus” to “Jingle Bell Rock” at a December concert in Pasadena.

The Towne Singers’ “Making Spirits Bright” concert, scheduled for December 7 at 5 p.m., will transform the First Church of the Nazarene into a festive celebration complete with engaging narrative, choreography and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Under the direction of Lance Merrill and accompanied by Richard An, the ensemble will perform an eclectic program including “Gettin’ In The Mood (for Christmas),” “Hallelujah Chorus,” “Cjannukah in Santa Monica,” “I Saw Three Ships,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “O Holy Night,” “O Magnum Mysterium,” “The Yodel Carol” and “White Christmas.”

The family-friendly event will feature interactive elements throughout the evening. During intermission, Santa Claus will be available for photos with children, while audience members can participate in a rousing “Name that Holiday Movie” contest.

The concert continues the Towne Singers’ tradition of community performances, with the organization making classical and popular holiday music accessible to audiences of all ages. Children under 12 can attend free of charge, while student tickets for those 13 and older are priced at $20. Adult admission is $30, with discounted rates of $25 per ticket available for blocks of 10.

The performance will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, 3700 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena 91107. Tickets are available through the choir’s website at www.TowneSingers.org or at the door. For additional information, concertgoers can call (626) 604-6231 or email townesingers87@gmail.com, according to Loretta Umland, Towne Singers Publicity Chairperson.
