INDYCAR driver Colton Herta is racing to help animals in need through a new partnership with Gainbridge and Pasadena Humane announced ahead of this weekend’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The initiative, unveiled by Andretti Global, aims to support pet adoption and animals affected by recent Los Angeles wildfires through sales of limited-edition dog bandanas matching the black and yellow colors of Herta’s No. 26 Gainbridge Honda.

“As someone who grew up in the Los Angeles area and has two shelter dogs of my own, I’m excited to team up with Gainbridge to support Pasadena Humane,” said Herta, a California native, in a statement from Andretti Global. “Animal adoption is something I’m passionate about.”

The bandanas are available in small and large sizes at ShopAndretti.com and at the Andretti INDYCAR merchandise tent during the Long Beach race weekend, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Pasadena Humane.

Herta and Gainbridge have also established a $5,000 fundraising goal for Pasadena Humane, accepting online donations through April 30. The organization has been providing critical support for pets impacted by the Eaton Fire in Altadena, Pasadena and surrounding areas.

“All of us at Pasadena Humane are grateful to have support from Colton and Gainbridge,” said Kevin McManus, Pasadena Humane PR & Communications Director.

For the Long Beach race, Herta’s car will feature the Pasadena Humane logo on the rear wing and inside halo. The sidepod will display paw prints and the names of Herta’s rescue dogs, Henry and Sandi, who will also be illustrated on a sticker on his helmet.

Mike Nichols, Chief of Sponsorship Strategy and Activation for Gainbridge’s parent company Group 1001, emphasized the authenticity of the partnership.

“What makes it authentic is when one of our athletes has a passion for a cause,” Nichols said.

Fans attending the Long Beach Grand Prix can meet Herta and teammates Kyle Kirkwood and Marcus Ericsson during an autograph session at the merchandise tent on Saturday from 3 to 3:20 p.m.
