The Pasadena Educational Network (PEN) is gearing up for its 13th annual Wine & Spirits Tasting event on Sunday, April 23, 2023. This exciting occasion will be held at the Shakespeare Club’s stunning Italianate Villa Clubhouse located at 171 South Grand Avenue in Pasadena, from 5 pm – 8 pm.
The Wine & Spirits Tasting event is an opportunity for PEN to recognize parents who exemplify the organization’s mission of promoting family involvement in public education in the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). This year, PEN is excited to honor PUSD parents Nia Bailey, Mae-Fay Koenig-Seng, and Warren Skidmore for their outstanding commitment to their children’s education and their contributions to the community. Additionally, PEN will present the PEN Founders Award to Pilar Oliva.
The Wine & Spirits Tasting event will also feature a silent auction, performances by the PHS Jazz Band, varietal wines donated by Silverlake Wine, and a premium tequila tasting donated by Cocktail Cadre. Attendees will also have the opportunity to savor delicious food from El Cholo and delectable desserts courtesy of Nothing Bundt Cakes.
As a grassroots nonprofit organization founded by parents, for parents, in 2006, PEN’s mission is to promote family participation in public education to benefit all students in Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre. PEN provides parent education programs and services to help parents explore, evaluate, and engage with their public schools, and represents a collective voice for parents with the PUSD.
If you want to join PEN in recognizing these exemplary parents and support the organization’s mission, make sure to mark your calendars for Sunday, April 23, 2023, and attend the 13th annual Wine & Spirits Tasting event at the Shakespeare Club’s historic landmark Italianate Villa Clubhouse.
