In a festive initiative coinciding with its upcoming Rose Parade appearance, Pasadena Humane has launched multiple adoption programs, including fee waivers for large dogs, through the end of December.
Pasadena Humane’s “Roses and Wet Noses” promotion, sponsored by Pet Care Foundation, eliminates adoption fees for all dogs weighing 40 pounds or more from Dec. 19 to Dec. 31.
The shelter’s participation in the 136th Rose Parade features their float “Welcome Home,” sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, celebrating the joy of pet companionship while highlighting adoption’s life-saving power.
A special pop-up adoption event will take place at PetSmart Hastings Ranch, at 3347 E. Foothill Blvd., on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring the Wiggle Waggle Waggin’.
As to other adoption activities at Pasadena Humane, the shelter maintains “Seniors for Seniors,” offering free adoptions of pets aged five and older to adopters over 60, emphasizing these animals are far from over the hill and often overlooked.
Military personnel can benefit from “Pets for Veterans,” providing fee-waived adoptions and vaccines for active duty and retired service members. The benefit is not transferrable, requiring the military ID holder to finalize adoption paperwork and sign agreements, with some restrictions applying.
All adoptions through these programs include spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping, with some restrictions applying to specific programs.
