Holy Family Church in South Pasadena will be showing the movie “If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast” on Friday, March 11, as part of the church’s Lenten Soup and Cinema series.
This film seeks the secret of living into your 90s — and loving every minute of it. Irrepressible writer-comedian Carl Reiner interviews and documents several celebrated nonagenarians and a few others over 100, to show what it takes to be vital and productive in older age, and is an entertaining look at how anyone, with a good sense of humor, can live well into their 90s.
The event begins with soup at 6 p.m. The movie begins at 7 p.m.
This is the first of three Fridays in Lent where Holy Family Church invites its members and the public for free soup and cinema, and some enlightening conversation.
On March 25, Lenten Soup and Cinema will show “Mary Magdalene,” and “Risen” on April 1.
