Students heading back to school this fall can add some radical retro flair to their academic arsenal, courtesy of the Pasadena Public Library’s latest throwback offering.

The Hill Avenue Branch Library will distribute free “90s-inspired back-to-school supply kits” on Monday, September 8, in an all-day “Take & Make” event designed to help local students embrace both nostalgia and academic readiness.

The library announced in promotional materials that students can receive a 90s-inspired back-to-school supply kit designed to provide retro gear, nostalgic vibes, and school essentials.

The free kits will be available at the Hill Avenue Branch, located at 55 S. Hill Ave., while supplies last.

The library encourages families to arrive early to snag one of the coveted retro packages.

This continues the Hill Avenue Branch’s tradition of creative “Take & Make” activities, including DIY paper fans offered for Independence Day celebrations in July.

The September 8 event underscores the library’s commitment to making back-to-school preparation both accessible and fun for local families, combining practical school supplies with beloved 1990s nostalgia.
