All Saints Church will host a summer dance party Saturday evening as part of its LGBTQ+ ministry outreach.
The event runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Sweetland Hall. A DJ will provide music for the gathering.
Church organizers say the party welcomes all community members. The goal is to help people connect with old friends and meet new ones.
“Come meet up with old friends and make new ones as we share an evening of fun & fellowship,” according to a church announcement.
The Episcopal church has a long history of LGBTQ+ advocacy. It began blessing same-sex unions in 1992.
The congregation also opposed California’s Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage. Church leaders have worked for full inclusion within the Episcopal Church.
“Radical Inclusion is one of our core values at All Saints Church,” the church said. All LGBTQ+ community members “are welcomed and celebrated as the images of God they are.”
The church provides educational resources about LGBTQ+ issues on its website at allsaints-pas.org/lgbtq-resources-2.
All Saints Church is located 132 N. Euclid Avenue in Pasadena.
