A new month means a new set of events from Pasadena Humane, starting with a free webinar on Wednesday, Nov. 4, that debunks pet nutritional myths.

Wednesday’s webinar is an educational session with Dr. Adrienne Bautista, a scientific services veterinarian for Royal Canin pet food. Bautista will discuss the common misconceptions surrounding ingredients and other pet food topics while helping people understand the nutritional truths of many pet food myths.

“Critter Crafts: Holiday Edition” noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18. Here, Pasadena Humane staffers Loni and Izzie show how to build critter swings, bridges, houses, and huts for furry friends. They From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. will also be discussing cool ways to house reptiles and birds. Sign up for the event here.
From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Nov. 12, earn a Pasadena Humane patch by participating in “Virtual Scouts,” a 60-minute program on learning about animal body language, as well as safe and respectful ways to interact with animals. Scouts will also create a project that helps provide for animals. Dates are Nov. 18 and 18, and Dec. 3, 9, and 17. Registration is $125. Register here.
“Circle Time” is a four-week program filled with stories, songs, and special animal friends. Circle Time meets every Tuesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 3 via Zoom. Circle Time is recommended for preschool-aged children, but all are welcome. The last session is on Nov. 17. Register here.
“Story Time with Animals” will have three editions, Tuesdays, 3:30 to 4 p.m. starting Nov. 3 with “Sticky the Kitty — A Sticky Situation” by Chuck Hawley. “Story Time” is suggested for kids ages 4 to 7. “Careers in Animal Welfare” is a four-part podcast-style Zoom event examining the wonderful world of animal careers. The series actually started Oct. 19. The next session is from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, with Dr. Curtis Eng, veterinarian, who will discuss the ins and outs of treating exotic pets. Register here.
On Friday, Nov. 20, Christy Schilling, executive director of Bark Avenue Foundation, will talk about how she got started in rescue and all the bumps and bruises along the way. Register here.
