Pasadena Humane is hosting its annual “Clear the Shelters” event this Saturday, featuring a special appearance by a local canine celebrity known for her distinctive ears.
On Wednesday, Pasadena Humane announced on Facebook that Sadie’s Ears, a social media sensation, will be available for a meet-and-greet during the adoption event.
“You may have seen these ears on our social media before,” the post read, describing the ears atop Sadie’s head.
During the event on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pasadena Humane will waive adoption fees for all available dogs, cats, and other small animals at the shelter, including Sadie herself.
Pasadena Humane emphasized that all adoptions include spaying or neutering, microchipping, and age-appropriate vaccinations for the animals. The shelter will follow its regular adoption process.
Residents of Pasadena and several nearby cities, including Altadena, Arcadia, Glendale, La Cañada, La Crescenta, Monrovia, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena, will need to purchase a license for dogs over four months old at the time of adoption.
Licensing fees vary by city, with Bradbury also requiring a pet license for cats. Meet-and-greets between pets will not be offered during the event.
Pasadena Humane encouraged potential adopters to leave their family pets at home for the duration of the “Clear the Shelters” event. No appointments are necessary to participate in the adoption promotion.
