Pasadena Humane will host a “Mindful Wildlife Walk & Talk: Native Plants” on Friday, June 20, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., featuring insights from a California naturalist and educator.

William Hallstrom, who works at Arlington Garden in Pasadena and assists various San Gabriel Valley plant-related organizations, will co-lead the educational walk.

“During this walk, we’ll discuss some of the plants found in our riparian, sage scrub, and oak woodland communities represented around the Hahamongna Watershed Park,” Pasadena Humane said. “We’ll also discuss how they relate to the San Gabriel Mountains and the climate and ecology of Los Angeles County.”

The program will focus on plant communities within the Hahamongna Watershed Park area, examining how local vegetation connects to broader regional ecosystems.
