Pasadena Humane announced it will waive adoption fees in November for dogs and cats aged five years and older, describing these pets as young at heart and hardly over the hill.
The initiative covers all standard adoption services, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations appropriate for the animal’s age, and microchip installation, though licensing fees may still apply.
The shelter said its concurrent Cats of the World promotion through Oct. 30 offers $50 kitten adoptions for the first 100 adoptions at the main facility, excluding offsite locations.
The organization’s year-round Seniors for Seniors program offers free adoptions to individuals over 60 who choose pets aged five and above, with these animals described as just hitting their stride.
Military personnel can access the Pets for Vets program, which eliminates adoption and vaccination fees, though the benefit requires the ID-holding service member to personally complete adoption paperwork.
The Cats of the World promotion, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, provides adopters with a complimentary copy of the namesake book and a bag of Hill’s Science Diet food.
