Pasadena Humane will be sponsoring a dog training workshop titled “Rockstar Recalls,” designed to help pet owners improve their dogs’ response to recall commands.
The 45-minute session, on Thursday, March 20 at 5 p.m., will focus on building reliable recall skills through positive reinforcement methods.
“Can’t recall the last time your dog came running back the first time you asked?” reads the workshop announcement from Pasadena Humane. “In this 45-minute workshop, we’ll show you how to build a recall so solid your dog might even ignore that squirrel! The best part? It’s all about positive reinforcement, and we’re going to have so much fun learning.”
Pasadena Humane notes that the program is “repeatable,” allowing owners to advance their dogs’ skills from beginner to “rockstar” levels with the help of their trainers.
To participate in the workshop, dogs must be comfortable enough to stand calmly and accept treats within 10 feet of other dogs. Each participating dog must be accompanied by one adult pet parent and have up-to-date age-appropriate vaccinations.
The “Rockstar Recalls” workshop costs $40 per session.
