The Pasadena Public Library is set to honor grandparents with a dedicated storytime event at its Santa Catalina Branch on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 10:30 a.m. The program, officially titled “Grandparent’s Day Preschool Storytime and Craft,” is designed for preschoolers and will feature a mix of stories, songs and interactive activities.
According to a Facebook post by the Pasadena Public Library, the event will be “a special storytime celebrating the wonderful grandparents in our lives.” The gathering will include “stories, songs, fun fingerplays” and conclude with participants making a special craft. This event serves as a precursor to the national Grandparents Day, which falls on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The library’s initiative aims to recognize the important role grandparents play in children’s lives, offering a space for intergenerational bonding through literacy and creativity. By hosting this event, the Library contributes to the broader celebration of Grandparents Day in the United States.
For those requiring accessibility accommodations, call (626) 744-7311 or email CSC@cityofpasadena.net. Providing at least 72 hours advance notice will help ensure availability.
The timing of the event aligns with the national observance of Grandparents Day, which occurs annually on the first Sunday after Labor Day. This year’s celebration on Sept. 8 provides families with an opportunity to honor and appreciate their elders.
