The Pasadena Police Department, in partnership with the Pasadena Police Foundation and Day One, will hold its annual Trunk or Treat Halloween Extravaganza on Oct. 30, Wednesday. The free event, taking place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Centennial Square, offers a secure environment for Halloween festivities.

Organizers designed the community gathering to ensure children and young adults can enjoy a “happy, healthy, and safe Halloween,” according to the organizers. Attendees can expect an array of activities, including games, prizes, treats, and a costume contest.

“Come join us for a spooktacular time at our in-person Trunk or Treat event in collaboration with the Pasadena Police Department,” Day One Pasadena said. “Get ready for a night filled with fun costumes, delicious treats, and festive decorations.”

The event will feature trick-or-treating from vehicle to vehicle, allowing participants to collect treats in a controlled setting – a safer alternative to traditional door-to-door candy collection, addressing concerns some parents may have about Halloween safety.

While admission is free for both participants and vendors, organizers encourage attendees to RSVP through Eventbrite using the link: https://bit.ly/TrunkorTreat2024. Centennial Square, located at 100 Garfield Ave. in Pasadena, provides a central and accessible venue for community members.

The Halloween Extravaganza represents a collaborative effort between local law enforcement and community organizations. By offering a structured event, the Pasadena Police Department aims to strengthen ties with residents while ensuring a secure celebration for families.

As Halloween approaches, events like Trunk or Treat provide communities with alternatives to traditional festivities. These gatherings often appeal to parents seeking controlled environments for their children’s holiday celebrations, balancing fun with safety concerns.
