Pasadena Police to Host ‘Coffee with a Cop’ at Vallarta Supermarket on April 16

Published on Apr 4, 2025

In an effort to foster stronger community ties and promote open dialogue, the Pasadena Police Department will host a “Coffee with a Cop” event on Wednesday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Vallarta Supermarket, located at 655 N. Fair Oaks Ave.

The event invites community members to meet with local police officers in an informal setting, offering a chance to ask questions, express concerns, and learn more about the department’s work in Pasadena. Complimentary coffee will be provided while supplies last.

Launched as part of a national initiative, “Coffee with a Cop” was created to improve trust and communication between police officers and the communities they serve. By removing formal barriers such as speeches and structured programs, the event allows for casual, face-to-face conversations in a relaxed environment.

“This is about building relationships one cup at a time,” the Pasadena Police Department states on its website, emphasizing the goal of transparency and approachability in law enforcement.

The department has hosted similar gatherings in the past at locations including Sephora and Huntington Memorial Hospital. Each event is designed to give the public direct access to officers outside of traditional enforcement settings, reinforcing the department’s commitment to community policing.

Pasadena residents are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to connect directly with officers in their neighborhoods.
