The Pasadena Police Department’s much-awaited 21st Annual Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, June 17 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Pasadena City Hall. The event, a staple of Southern California’s automotive scene, expects to draw car aficionados from across the region.
The show will predominantly feature classic style cars, according to Police spokesperson Officer Jasmine Thomas. Among the historic vehicles to be displayed is a 1968 Dodge Coronet, a first patrol car of Retired Officer Ted Saraf, who has meticulously restored the vehicle.
In addition to the vintage cars, the show will exhibit modern police vehicles, including motorcycles, a Bearcat armored vehicle, and a new Mobile Command Center.
The Pasadena Police Department’s helicopter will also be on display, adding another dimension to the vehicular showcase.
In terms of entertainment, the familiar voice of MC Mike will guide attendees through the day’s program. Food will be available from Big Nash Ice Cream and Pie N Burger food trucks, while the nearby Paseo will simultaneously host its annual Chalk Walk Festival.
A raffle and silent auction, featuring prizes such as a police helicopter ride-along and suite tickets to an LA Kings game, will take place in front of the Mobile Command Center. Proceeds from the event will directly support the Explorer and PAL youth engagement programs within the Pasadena Police Department.
The local Rusnak dealership will add to the eclectic mix of vehicles, providing around six luxury cars for display, including a Rolls Royce and a Bentley. The dealership’s contribution forms part of what Officer Thomas referred to as the “Rusnak Experience.”
Typically held on Father’s Day weekend, the show promises a range of attractions for car lovers. The event serves not only as a celebration of automobiles but also as an opportunity for the community to support local youth programs. It combines the historic with the modern, the recreational with the philanthropic, promising a memorable day for all attendees.
