The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival is set to return on September 28-29, 2024, marking its 16th year as a premier cultural event in San Diego. The free, open-air celebration will take place on Girard Avenue in the heart of La Jolla Village, featuring a diverse array of fine art, wines, and family-friendly activities.
Over 160 artists from across the United States, Mexico, and beyond will present their works in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, jewelry design, and photography. Roy Kerckhoffs, a renowned photographer and mixed media artist, has been named this year’s featured artist.
“Every year, we are thrilled to bring together such a diverse and talented group of artists, as well as the region’s finest wineries, distilleries, and breweries, in a grand open-air celebration in the village,” said Brenda Chand, Executive Director of the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival.
The event’s iconic Wine & Beer Garden will showcase more than 35 international wineries, local craft breweries, and distilleries. Participants include Pali Wine Co., Bird Rock Fine Wine, Puesto, Boochcraft, IZO Spirits, and Solento Tequila, among others.
Families can enjoy activities at the Geppetto’s Toys Family Art Center, with offerings from organizations such as La Jolla Youth Robotics and The Living Coast Discovery Center. Face painting, balloon twisting, and robotics demonstrations will be available for children of all ages.
The festival will also feature live entertainment, interactive installations, a two-day silent auction, and pet adoption stations, ensuring a diverse range of experiences for attendees.
As a nonprofit event, proceeds from the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival will support the San Diego Unified School District, funding essential programs and initiatives. The festival aims to bring art to the community, promote La Jolla’s vibrant culture, and showcase local merchants.
Admission to the festival is free, with ticketed entry to the Wine & Beer Garden. Early bird pricing for tasting tickets starts at $39.99 for five tastings and $59.99 for ten tastings, with prices set to increase on July 1, September 1, and the day of the event.
