Pasadena Village, a nonprofit supporting aging-in-place older adults, will host “Peace Out with Schmoozendoodle,” a 1960s-themed social gathering at Washington Park Community House on Jan. 30, 2025.

The free event, organized by Karen Bagnard, combines creative activities with social networking opportunities for the community, featuring tie-dye and peace symbols that are “easier than you think with the Schmoozendoodle method.”

“The Village Connections Series is sponsored by Clifford Swan,” according to event materials. “Enjoy the pot… of coffee and light snacks and bop to the 60s music!”

Running from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 700 E Washington Blvd in Pasadena, the event begins with a social period from 2:00-2:30 p.m. offering complimentary coffee and tea, followed by an engaging presentation led and moderated by adults 50 and older.

The gathering is part of Pasadena Village’s broader mission since its 2010 founding within the National Village Movement. After two years of planning and fundraising, the organization launched in September 2012 and now serves over 200 members in the west San Gabriel Valley area, participating in Village Movement California.

The Jan. 30 event is part of an ongoing weekly Thursday series featuring diverse topics. Upcoming sessions include memoir writing, restorative justice discussions, poetry gatherings focused on African American and women poets, LGBTQ+ care preparation, and fall prevention workshops. The program aims to combat social isolation, provide cultural enrichment, and strengthen community bonds while supporting Pasadena’s aging population.

Those interested in attending can register for this free event by contacting Pasadena Village at 626-765-6037 or info@pasadenavillage.org.
