Happy barks and the aroma of craft beer. The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is set to host its annual Barks & Brews event, a unique celebration that combines canine companionship with community spirit.
Presented by Fera Pets, this pet-friendly extravaganza offers a day of relaxation and adventure for both two-legged and four-legged attendees. Dogs with a taste for excitement can test their agility on a specially designed course, while their human companions sample craft beers from local favorite Mt. Lowe Brewing Company.
The event, scheduled for Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., serves a dual purpose as a fundraiser for Pasadena Humane and the Arboretum Foundation.
Pasadena Humane will be on-site with their mobile adoption truck, offering a chance for attendees to potentially meet their new best friend and providing helpful pet information.
“It’s all about dogs, canine companionship, and community,” said an event organizer. “Imagine taking a leisurely Sunday walk with your canine buddy in this vast garden. Oh my, what a nature adventure!”
As visitors stroll through the lush grounds, they can indulge in culinary offerings from various food trucks, creating a perfect pairing with the craft brews on offer. The event promises to be a sensory delight, blending the natural beauty of the Arboretum with the conviviality of a community gathering.
While the event encourages a laid-back atmosphere, organizers emphasize that all dogs must remain leashed throughout the day, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. This rule underscores the event’s commitment to responsible pet ownership and community consideration.
Barks & Brews at the Arboretum not only provides a unique weekend outing but also supports vital community organizations. The funds raised will contribute to Pasadena Humane’s ongoing efforts in animal welfare and the Arboretum Foundation’s work in maintaining this historic botanical garden.
Admission to the event ranges from $5 to $15, with an additional $10 fee per dog. This includes access to the garden and all event activities. Attendees are encouraged to reserve tickets in advance through the Los Angeles County Parks website.
As the sun sets on this Sunday soiree, attendees will leave with wagging tails, satisfied taste buds, and the warm feeling of having contributed to a worthy cause. In a world where green spaces are increasingly precious, Barks & Brews offers a reminder of the joy found in nature, community, and the company of our four-legged friends.
