Saturday, Altadenans will gather to do what they do best — support each other and plan for their community’s future. My TRIBE Rise, one of the area’s established community organizations, is hosting a rally that promises to blend recovery planning with neighborhood celebration.
The February 8 event, running from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 2283 West Fair Oaks Avenue, comes at a crucial time as the community grapples with the aftermath of the Eaton Canyon Fire. Organizers have arranged for an expert to be present, offering guidance on the path forward for affected residents, businesses, schools, and churches.
My TRIBE Rise brings unique credibility to this effort, having been active in community work before the fire struck. Their vision for the rally reflects this experience – it’s designed not just as a planning session, but as a true community gathering with food, music, and art woven throughout the three-hour program.
“The desire and end result of this event is to have the community at the forefront of communication, outreach, new build planning, environmental care, restoration and the future of Altadena,” organizers explain. “We, the people of Altadena, will uphold the culture and community of Altadena!”
The timing couldn’t be more significant. As Altadena faces crucial decisions about rebuilding and restoration, this rally aims to ensure that community voices lead the way in shaping what comes next. Under the banner “Beautiful Altadena: We Will Rebuild,” the event promises to be both a celebration of community resilience and a practical step toward recovery.
For those looking to participate in shaping Altadena’s future, the rally offers a chance to connect with neighbors, share experiences, and join in the collective effort to maintain the unique character of this foothill community.
