Published on Nov 24, 2024

Multiple streets in Old Pasadena will face closures this Sunday as the City prepares to host its unconventional Doo Dah Parade, according to a post from the City of Pasadena.

The parade, marking its 45th year as a celebration of the City’s alternative spirit, will prompt extensive road closures from early morning through mid-afternoon on Sunday, November 24.

The City announced that Raymond Avenue between Walnut Street and Holly Street will be completely closed from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., alongside Holly Street between Raymond Avenue and Arroyo Parkway.

The main thoroughfare of Colorado Boulevard will see restrictions between Raymond Avenue and St. John Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., significantly impacting traffic flow in the downtown area.

Additional streets, including segments of Holly Street, Union Street, Colorado Boulevard between Raymond Avenue and Arroyo Parkway, and Fair Oaks Avenue, will permit only local access starting at 10 a.m.

The parade route, beginning at Raymond Avenue and Holly Street, will proceed south before turning right onto Colorado Boulevard, concluding at Pasadena Avenue.

Motorists should note that Pasadena Avenue will be detoured westbound at Colorado Boulevard between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., according to the City’s announcement.

The free public event features art cars, marching bands, and performance artists celebrating Pasadena’s alternative spirit.
