Santa Anita’s upcoming Autumn Meet, which begins on Friday, Sept. 29, will not only feature world-class racing but also a wide variety of promotions for racing enthusiasts. The Autumn Meet, which will last for 19 days, will offer free parking and admission on opening day, along with $3 beers and $5 margaritas.
As the 40th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships makes its way to Santa Anita for a record 11th time on Nov. 3 and 4, the Autumn Meet will showcase the best Thoroughbreds in the world at America’s most picturesque racing venue.
“We’re excited to welcome racing fans back to The Great Race Place,” Andrew Arthur, Santa Anita’s Sr. Director of Marketing, said. “We’ve got an aggressive experience and promotional schedule to help us build momentum as we approach the Breeders’ Cup on Nov. 3 and 4 and we’re confident this is going to complement some great racing beginning on opening day.”
Racing fans are encouraged to sign up in advance for Santa Anita’s free online Showvivor presented by EquineEdge. Players are required to pick horses that finish in the money; they could win some of the total $5,000 in prize money.
Additionally, 1/ST Reward (formerly XB Rewards and Thoroughbreds) members who attend on-track and bet $100 on Santa Anita races via 1/ST Rewards, 1/ST BET, or Xpressbet will receive a free Santa Anita Sweatshirt. Fans can also earn a commemorative Zenyatta Pin on Oct. 1, 7, 8, and 9 by betting $50 via 1/ST Rewards, 1/ST BET, or Xpressbet or by visiting Santa Anita Park.
The Autumn Meet will feature several promotions throughout its duration, leading up to the Breeders’ Cup. These promotions include Japan Family Day and Birriamania on Saturday, Sept. 30; $30,000 Wealth Tree & Asian Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8; and Oktoberfest Trackside Apron on Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15.
Other promotions include Dollar Day on Monday, Oct. 9 with $1 Beers and Sodas, plus $2 Hot Dogs, and Smorgasburg Event Trackside Apron on Saturday, Oct. 28.
The Autumn Meet will close on Sunday, Nov. 5, which will also mark mandatory Pari-Mutuel Payouts. Additionally, fans can participate in the $500 Closing Day Challenge and the Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Contest, with the chance to win a Santa Anita Sweatshirt from 1/ST Reward.
