The Gamble House, a renowned architectural landmark, will host a two-part sketching workshop led by illustrator and designer Jini Zopf on Sunday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 26. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the historic home’s first-floor rooms from an artist’s perspective.
The workshop, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on both days, aims to focus on architectural details using various mediums. Attendees will work with toned paper, pen and ink, markers, and pencils to capture the essence of the Gamble House’s interior.
Zopf, a third-generation designer, brings a wealth of experience to the workshop. She graduated with honors from ArtCenter College of Design and her career spans 20 years in illustration, product design, and graphic design. She has held creative leadership positions at companies including LEGO, Hot Wheels, Airstream, and Disney, according to the event announcement.
Currently running her own inter-disciplinary design agency, Zopf Collab Studio in Pasadena, Zopf also teaches at ArtCenter. Her courses cover packaging, product design, illustration, graphic design, creative leadership, spatial experience design, and Designmatters.
The two-part workshop is open to all skill levels and is suitable for participants aged 13 and older. Pricing for the two-session workshop is set at $85 for members and $100 for non-members.
Advance ticketing is required, and the program is non-refundable. Organizers will email a materials list to students prior to the first session, ensuring they come prepared.
