The Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (JLP) recently hosted a lovely fall Afternoon Tea fundraiser. The event took place on Sunday, November 5 at 409 Woodbury – the Event Space, a woman-owned event rental business, in Altadena.
It had been many years since the JLP last hosted a fundraiser in the fall season. Attendees were evenly divided between Active and Sustaining members of the Junior League of Pasadena, along with people from the community. The proceeds from the Afternoon Tea will support the vital work in the JLP’s important focus area: the development of business, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills for women in Pasadena and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley.
The event was inspired loosely by the Shonda Rhimes series Bridgerton on Netflix. Attendees had a lovely time reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. They had the opportunity to bid on desirable silent auction items while enjoying delicious traditional tea fare lovingly prepared by Marila Cook and festive drinks including almond sparkling wine donated by Wilson Creek Winery.
The live music was a highlight of the event. Clover Strings, a talented string trio, provided wonderful ambiance with instrumental interpretations of pop music hits.
For those who missed the Afternoon Tea, watch for the Junior League of Pasadena’s Simply Speaking gala fundraiser in the spring of 2024.
