The Golden Future Senior Expo is a premier lifestyle, health, and active aging expo series in Southern California. The event has a long history in Pasadena, where it first took place in 2010 at the Pasadena Conference Center. Since then, the expo has evolved to become an interactive day where attendees can have fun, gather valuable resources, and gain essential knowledge on how to live their best life.
The expo features a range of speakers and workshops, including Alzheimer’s awareness with Linda Loera, Program and Education Manager of the Alzheimer’s Association- California Southland Chapter. Veronica Carmona, a registered dietitian from Optum, will give a talk on eating healthy for older adults. Attendees can also participate in a meditation class led by Yasaman Barzi, a meditation facilitator from Heartfulness Meditation.
Other workshops include A Modest Movement Lifestyle (OMRA) workout class by Annora Olavson and Rachel O’Leary, the co-founders of OMRA. Celine Tien, CEO and founder of Flowly, will speak about mastering your nervous system to address pain, anxiety, and stress. Additionally, Calin Popescu, a bodyworker and wellness coach from 1Heart Caregiver Services, will host a workshop on fall prevention.
Dr. Roy A. Pevey from the Arcadia Chiropractic and Neuropathy Center will give a talk on the treatment of peripheral neuropathy diabetes, and Kay Nikookary, the owner and founder of The Living Trust Co., will speak about living trusts and how to ensure you are protected. Isabel Ramirez, a mental health community health worker from the LA County Department of Mental Health, will host a workshop on coping with grief and loss.
Finally, Patty Madera, the executive director of the American Red Cross, will discuss disaster preparedness for seniors. In addition to these educational opportunities, the expo will also offer health screenings, a mini job and volunteer fair, and one-on-one consultations for financial services and Medicare. Attendees can also participate in raffles, bingo, and take advantage of shopping discounts.
New features at the 2023 Golden Future 50+ Senior Expo include the Speed Meet & Greet roundtables, allowing seniors to meet new people and potentially make new friends, and a raffle for a chance to win a $150 gift card to Ralph’s or Vons. Professional Institute of Beauty will also be on hand again this year, providing makeovers that include haircuts and nail manicures.
