The westbound 210 Freeway through Pasadena was shut down for over three hours as authorities investigated the death of a man who was struck and dismembered by several vehicles Sunday night.
The incident unfolded just before 10 p.m. on the westbound 210 Freeway at Lake Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi.
Pasadena police officials said it was not immediately clear how the man ended up on the freeway. The first calls received by the CHP reported the incident as a possible jumper.
The westbound lanes of the freeway remained closed at Hill Avenue until about 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Officers from the CHP’s Altadena-area office are handling the investigation.
