A car fire early Thursday morning on the Altadena Drive onramp to the westbound I-210 freeway temporarily closed the onramp and resulted in one person being injured, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports.
The incident occurred around 1:57 a.m., when a sedan became fully engulfed in flames on the right shoulder of the onramp. Firefighters from Pasadena Fire Department (PASFD) were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:03 a.m. The vehicle was already fully ablaze when they arrived.
A woman was seen limping away from the scene, reportedly heading toward Allen Avenue, and was later transported to a local hospital by the PASFD for treatment of undisclosed injuries. CHP officers initially shut down the Altadena Drive onramp at 2:06 a.m. as emergency personnel worked to extinguish the fire and secure the area.
Tow services were requested shortly after, and the onramp was reopened at 2:37 a.m. The cause of the fire and the woman’s connection to the vehicle are still under investigation. There were no other parties reported at the scene.
