This sermon was delivered by Rev. Dr. Cedrick Bridgeforth, District Superintendent in the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Pasadena. Rev. Dr. Cedrick Bridgeforth is a native of Alabama, U.S. Air Force veteran, and graduate of Samford University (Birmingham, AL), Claremont School of Theology (Claremont, CA) and Pepperdine University (Malibu, CA). His service to the church began at an early age, and his appointment history includes pastorates in Los Angeles (Bowen Memorial UMC and Crenshaw UMC) and also as Director of Alumni and Church Relations at Claremont School of Theology. He is current Chair of Black Methodist for Church Renewal and faithful member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
