Tony Olmos, Pasadena Director of Public Works, will be leaving the City on July 11.
According to the City’s Public Information Officer, Lisa Derderian, Olmos will join the City of Inglewood in a similar role on July 22.
The new opportunity will provide him with a shorter commute time to allow him to spend more time with family and work on many significant projects including the $2 billion Inglewood Transit Connector Project that is nearing design/construction phase.
Olmos came to Pasadena in 2022 after a national search that spanned four months.
At that time the Department had 230 full-time employees and an annual budget of $76.9 million.
Olmos has 31 years of professional experience and previously worked in the City of Brea where he served as Public Works director for five years.
Olmos expressed thanks to the Pasadena community, City Council, and City staff for their support and said he looks forward to working collaboratively with the City on the upcoming major events coming to both Inglewood and Pasadena in the next several years.
