Police arrested a suspect Saturday morning after a brief pursuit involving a stolen vehicle, according to Lieutenant Andrea Perez of the Pasadena Police Department.
The incident began at approximately 7:16 a.m. on December 7, 2024, when an officer spotted a stolen 2008 Honda Ridgeline near the intersection of Allen Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard, Perez said.
As the officer attempted to position his marked police vehicle behind the stolen car, the suspect immediately accelerated and drove away, running through several red lights, Perez said.
The officer pursued but quickly broke off the chased due to the suspect’s high speed, according to Perez.
A few minutes later, the suspect was seen parking the vehicle on El Nido Avenue, south of Morningside Street, and walking away from it, Perez stated.
Police were able to apprehend the suspect without incident, Perez said.
The stolen Honda Ridgeline was subsequently returned to its rightful owner, Perez added.
