Police responded to a ShotSpotter gunfire alert early Tuesday but found no victims at the scene or in local hospitals, authorities said.
According to Pasadena Police Lt. Matt Campeau, officers arrived within four minutes at the 1100 block of Sunset Avenue when the alert was triggered shortly after midnight.
Campo said officers found evidence of gunfire, including four 9mm shell casings at the scene.
ShotSpotter, an automated gunfire detection system that alerts patrol officers to shooting incidents, faces a renewal decision from the City Council in early 2025. The Community Police Oversight Commission recently recommended renewing the system.
