A robbery suspect evaded members of the Pasadena Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit on Monday afternoon in the 900 block of North Oakland Avenue about 3:25 p.m. and barricaded himself in a residence, police said.
The SWAT Team was called, immediate neighbors were evacuated and the Crisis Negotiations Team began conversations with the suspect.
After about three hours, at about 6:15 p.m., the suspect, identified as Adam Youines, 22, of Pasadena, was arrested without further incident, police said.
According to authorities, Youines was named in a strong armed robbery that took place over the weekend.
“By cooperating with police commands, we were able to take Mr. Youines into custody without any physical harm to him, our officers or the neighbors,†says Chief Melekian. “Between then and this afternoon, our patrol officers, detectives and special operations teams did an excellent job at finding out who he was, where he was and bringing him into custody.â€
Youines has been booked for robbery and is being held on $50,000.00 bail. It is anticipated that he will be arraigned on Wednesday.
