Pasadena police on Wednesday released composite sketches of the suspects in the 2021 fatal shooting of 13-year-old Iran Moreno.
The sketches come on the heels of the release earlier this month of a partial license plate number for a vehicle believed to be involved in the drive-by attack that took the teen’s life as he played video games in his bedroom.
The updates are significant developments in a three-and-a half years long investigation into the Nov. 20, 2021, killing.
Authorities say new tips have helped identify the vehicle used in the shooting — a gray Ford Fusion — and trace its movements before and after the gunfire erupted on the 900 block of North Raymond Avenue.
According to police, a male suspect exited the parked vehicle across the street from Moreno’s home and fired two shots eastward. One bullet struck the boy through a window, fatally wounding him.
The shooter is described as a Black male, medium complexion, approximately 33 to 37 years old, standing 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 185 to 195 pounds, and last seen wearing a red and black “The North Face” hoodie. The getaway driver is described as a Black female, medium complexion, approximately 27 to 31 years old, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing between 165 and 185 pounds.
Investigators believe the suspects and vehicle have ties to Pasadena, San Jose, and Alameda County.
The department released composite sketches and surveillance images of the Ford Fusion in connection with the case.
