A 21-year-old Alhambra man was arrested and booked by officers after allegedly committing a forgery at a local Wells Fargo Bank, it was reported today.
According to Lt. Russ, German Martinez attempted to cash a stolen check at the Wells Fargo branch located at 82. S. Lake Avenue. After bank employees reported the possible crime to Pasadena Police, officers were able to apprehend Martinez near the 200 block of Shoppers Lane, Russ added.
When officers apprehended Martinez, they reportedly discovered additional items on his person, such as stolen mail, potentially to be used for additional fraud.
Russ said the apparent stolen check used at Wells Fargo was stolen from a Pasadena-area mailbox, just like the other items found on Martinez when he was apprehended.
