A dangerous heatwave is expected to grip Pasadena beginning Friday, with temperatures climbing into the triple digits, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters warn that highs could reach 101 degrees Saturday, posing elevated risks of heat-related illness across the region.

Today will be sunny with a high near 91 degrees. Light south-southeast winds will shift southwest at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 63 degrees.

Wednesday will remain sunny with a high near 91 degrees. Winds will be calm in the morning before turning southwest around 5 mph later in the day. Overnight lows will again fall near 63 degrees. Thursday will bring slight cooling, with highs near 89 degrees and lows around 64 degrees.

The heat will intensify Friday, with highs near 96 degrees. Saturday is forecast to be the hottest day, reaching 101 degrees, before easing slightly to 99 degrees Sunday. Overnight lows will remain in the upper 60s, limiting relief from the daytime heat.

Forecasters note that the weekend heatwave will bring widespread moderate to high heat risk. Advisories are expected, urging residents to stay cool, avoid prolonged outdoor activity, and check on vulnerable neighbors. The National Weather Service cautions that overnight warmth will increase the risk of heat stress, especially for those without air conditioning.

Looking ahead, Monday will remain hot with highs near 95 degrees. The extended forecast shows continued above-normal temperatures into next week, keeping Pasadena under persistent heat concerns.
