Virtualitics, the Mission AI company based in Pasadena, has secured a five-year U.S. Air Force SBIR III contract worth more than $46 million to enhance weapon systems maintenance.
The contract, announced on Tuesday, builds upon a three-year effort between the Air Force and Virtualitics to improve operational effectiveness through AI-guided applications for flightline personnel.
The company’s Integrated Readiness Optimization applications will be deployed to Air Force maintenance and sustainment units, integrating Conditions Based Maintenance-Plus risk levels with inventory and staffing constraints.
“Together, Virtualitics and the United States Air Force are leading the way to bring AI innovation into the hands of maintainers,” said Michael Amori, Virtualitics CEO and co-founder.
The platform preprocesses and fuses data, constructs AI models, and creates knowledge graphs while offering three-dimensional visualizations with explainability and interaction capabilities for tactical decisions.
The initiative aligns with the U.S. Air Force’s Agile Combat Employment program, which aims to increase operational flexibility in response to evolving challenges in logistics environments.
“We are very proud to partner with the United States Air Force sustainment communities and operational wings to support such a strategic level mission, deploying some of today’s most sophisticated artificial intelligence technology to solve the growing challenges around generating air power,” said Rob Bocek, President, Public Sector at Virtualitics.
Built on a decade of Caltech research, the company specializes in enterprise-ready AI applications with security, governance, and flexible data integration for analysts and leaders.
