The Altadena Town Council elections get underway on Saturday. The residents of Altadena will have the opportunity to elect their representatives to the Town Council, an advisory body to LA County established in 1975.
Voting will take place on Saturday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Altadena Main Library and on Tuesday, November 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all polling locations. The list of polling sites can be found on the Altadena Election website.
To be eligible to vote, residents must be registered voters. Voter registration information can be obtained from the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters.
Residents can only vote in person at the upcoming elections; there are no mail-in ballots.
The Town Council comprises 16 members representing eight census tracts, with two seats per tract. For this election cycle, one seat per tract is open, with each term lasting two years. Applications closed on October 13.
Altadena Town Council Member Dorothy Wong emphasized the importance of the Council in helping the County understand community concerns.

The results will be announced possibly the day following the elections after the votes are counted. The newly elected Members will then be inaugurated and begin their terms of office, representing the interests of the Altadena community and making decisions on local issues and policies.
