The Avenue 64 Complete Streets Project is a significant initiative aimed at improving traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and overall aesthetics along Avenue 64. The project involves constructing a traffic roundabout at the Burleigh Drive intersection and curb extensions at the Cheviotdale Drive intersection to reduce speeding and enhance pedestrian safety.
Other improvements include landscape beautification, street lighting, and stormwater capture elements.
The project is funded through various sources such as Metro Measure R Mobility Improvement Program Grant, MTA Multi-Year Subregional Program, and Safe, Clean Water Program (Measure W).
The project timeline includes construction scheduled through June 2024.
