Bluebeam Revu 20: Streamline Remote Project Collaboration

Pasadena-based Bluebeam Inc., a leading developer of solutions and services that set the standard for architecture, engineering, and construction professionals worldwide, has launched its newest version of Revu, the company’s flagship software application that allows users to markup, takeoff, organize, and collaborate with PDF files.

More than simply being a PDF viewer, Revu is efficiency and collaboration software for anyone who works with technical files, a company statement said.

The new version, Revu 20, now delivers greater flexibility and control with improved user and content management capabilities and streamlines communication with new enhancements designed to increase accuracy and save time, Bluebeam’s statement said.

“When we think of ‘teamwork’ on a construction project, we think about removing barriers through technology while unlocking the inherent potential of a group of diverse project partners,” said Jon Elliott, Bluebeam CEO.

“When teams have the right solutions in place to work together seamlessly across distances and time zones, all of the investments an organization makes in training, management, and process development can be realized through clear and measurable improvements in quality, accuracy, and efficiency,” Elliott said.

Revu 20 introduces new communication features designed to boost productivity and enable more successful project delivery, improved user and content management capabilities, and enhancements to the powerful markup tools in Revu that help improve project data management.

“Bluebeam has always been a company that has focused on solving problems without reinventing the way teams work in the process,” said Roger Angarita, Bluebeam Chief Product Officer. “We focus on developing solutions that enhance the existing strength of organizations and meet them at the point where the right tools start to make all the difference.”

Angarita said a Bluebeam survey showed 82 percent of Revu users reported saved time, 76 percent reported boosted efficiency and 88 percent reported improvement in work quality.

From within Revu, users can access Studio and Studio Projects, which allow for real-time collaboration, allowing teams to stay connected across the globe from wherever they are, whether it’s the job site, the trailer, or their homes. They provide access to a single centralized location to store documents – including even entire building projects – in the cloud.

Revu 20 also introduces an improved invitation process and administrative controls in Studio Sessions that make it easier for team members and administrators worldwide to instantly connect on the same set of documents and take advantage of real-time connectivity, the company said.

Along with the release of Revu 20, Bluebeam also announced the launch of a Studio server in Australia, allowing clients to host Studio Sessions and store project data within Australian borders. Access is available immediately and is automatic for all users in the region using Revu 20 or Revu 2019.

Bluebeam Inc., whose headquarters are located at 443 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena, has offices throughout California, and in Illinois, Texas, and New Hampshire. Its global offices are located in England, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Australia. The company is part of the Nemetschek Group.
