A 51-year-old woman from Burbank lost her iPhone to a strong-arm robber Monday night while she was walking through the Allen Avenue Metro Gold Line Station in Pasadena.

Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said the incident happened at about 11:40 p.m.

“She stopped to text a friend, and then felt someone running from behind,” Hettema said. “Immediately, she felt something strike her on the back of the head, and the victim fell to the ground sustaining some injuries, and dropped her cellphone. “

Hettema said the suspect tried to get the iPhone first but the owner managed to maintain control. But when she stood up and pushed the suspect, he was able to grab the cellphone and run off.

“She was able to give a description of the suspect: male, Hispanic, between 25 and 30 years old and wearing dark clothing,” Hettema said.

The victim complained of pain in her head but did not require hospitalization.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is advised to call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
