The Caltech men’s and women’s swim & dive teams earned Spring Scholar All-America honors and ranked first in the nation in grade-point average (GPA) this past semester, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced on Monday.
The men’s team combined for a GPA of 3.97 in Spring 2024 to lead all programs in the nation across every division while the women’s squad led all women’s programs in the country after collecting a GPA of 3.93. This is the second straight semester in which both the men and women respectively led competing swim & dive teams in the nation in GPA.
Scholar All-America distinction is awarded to nominated CSCAA-member teams who achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the semester.
The superb academic accomplishment comes after an excellent season in the pool for both the men and women, with the men earning a top-4 finish at the conference championships and the women nabbing a top-6 finish with an individual diving title. The two teams combined for over 10 school records and 100 new entries on the program’s all-time top-10 lists.
